ULAQ KAMA and the SANLAB 2DOF Stabilized Platform

At SAHA EXPO, the SANLAB 2DOF stabilized platform was exhibited on the ARES Shipyard stand together with ULAQ KAMA, developed by ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defence. The platform keeps equipment on marine vehicles stable in harsh sea conditions.

Why equipment on a vessel needs stabilization

On an unmanned surface vessel, a yacht or a ship, every wave turns into roll and pitch at the equipment mount. Radar and optical systems lose their line of sight, a launcher loses its aim and a drone has nowhere level to land. A stabilized platform measures that motion and drives the mount in the opposite direction, so the equipment on top stays level while the hull moves underneath it.

SANLAB’s 2DOF stabilized platform is used to stabilize military and civilian systems operating in harsh sea conditions, on vehicles such as USVs, yachts and ships. It can also be produced in two, three and six axes according to customer requirements.

Where the platform is used

  • Landing and take-off of UAVs
  • Radar and optical systems
  • Launching ammunition from a launcher
  • Stabilization of civilian ships
